Richard Lee Caudle, 65, of Prineville passed away June 2, 2009.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Juniper Haven Cemetery in Prineville, Ore. The officant will be Gabe Bales.

Richard was born March 18, 1944 in Fort Smith, Ark. to Don and Opal (Hight) Caudle. He graduated from Crook County High School. He then fell timber with his Dad for 18 years. He drove a log truck for DLCO Logging then went to work for Owens Freight Lines for 23 years. He worked for Woodward Brothers until his death.

His hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, gambling and most of all, spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Richard married Judy Hanstad in Reno, NV on March 1, 1968.

Richard enjoyed his heavy hauling work and took a lot of pride in his work. He would never say "no" to a job if he was asked.

Richard is survived by his loving wife Judy Caudle of Prineville, Ore; daughter Kelly Vaughan of Prineville, Ore; son Todd (Staci) Caudle of Wilsonville, Ore; six grandchildren, one expected great grandchild and a large loving extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother Jackie Caudle, one sister Janice Hamre and one daughter Robin Swett.

Richard will not have casket bearers at his service because he always stated "I just have too many friends to choose from."

Contributions may be made to The Crook County Library 175 NW Meadow Lakes Dr. Prineville, Ore. 97754. Whispering Pines Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
