Carl Junior Hodge, 73, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away on Monday, September 29, 2014, at Lewis-Gale Montgomery. He was the last of the 12 children born to the late Joseph Hundley and Zella Weeks Hodge.He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Roy, Coy, John, Wilmer (Bill), Newell, Sidney, and Paul Hodge; and his four sisters, Alma Epperly, Allie Miles, Virginia Hodge, and Joyce Czerniakiewicz.He was retired from Roanoke Electric Steel. Carl is survived by his wife, Kathy Jarels Hodge.He leaves behind three sisters-in-law, Polly, Ruby, and Shirley Hodge; as well as his nieces and nephews, Judy Cole, Bonnie Lewis, Connie Turner, Teri Miles, Debbie Linkous, Linda Blankenship, Dennis Hodge, and Joey Hodge.He is also survived by brother-in-law, William 'Bill' Czerniakiewicz; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ward and Kate Lovern, Bruce and Joyce Jarels, Curtis Green and Ann Alderman, Roger Green, and Eddie Huffman; several great-nieces;one special great-nephew, Logan Ferrel; as well as many special friends. The Hodge family would like to thank the Lewis-Gale Montgomery Hospital doctors and nurses for the care give during Carl's illness. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 2, 2014, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home.The Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Frankie Graham officiating.Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.Online condolences may be left by visiting www.hornefuneralservice.com.
