Obituary: The Press-Dispatch, Wednesday, March 31, 2004 - Lytle fell asleep and passed away while he was staying at a Hospice in Summerfield, FL. Lytle was fighting congestive heart failure and kidney failure. He was born July 31, 1926 and died March 14, 2004. While Lytle was still here he asked us not to cry for him. He said God was taking him home and we would see him again when it was our time. Lytle died a happy man. He said he had a lot of love and joy. He preached the word of God and sang gospel as he passed on. Preceding him in death was his wife of 49 years, Helen Ashby, a great-grandson, Dalen, and a sister, LoLa Fay. They are now reunited. Lytle was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Masons, United Mine Workers of America, Gold Wing Club, Camping Club, The Patoka Loafers, Carving Club, and Knife Club. He was also a Deacon at Arthur G. B. Church. Lytle was remarried to Myrene Shewbery for 1 1/2 years. They attended Village View Church and lived at her house in Summerfield, FL. Lytle has one brother and four sisters, Shila, Jerry, Jonell and Nancy. Lytle has three daughters, Beth, Nedra and Marsha. Lytle has eight grandchildren Marsha, Vanesa, Alan, Brandon, Nora, Kendra, Tanner and Josh. Lytle has eight great-grandhildren. Leslie, Earl Kendal, Sian, Kaden, Malynn and Hannah. Lytle and Helen raised and considered more children their own. They are loved and missed. There will be a graveside service at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Petersburg.
