The Rev. J. Sydney Carnes, pastor of the Nampa First Christian Church will officiate. Interment will follow at the Meridian Cemetery.

Mr. Vail was born Sept. 27, 1889 at Colorado, Iowa. He was baptized into the Christian Church at the age of 15, and had remained active throughout his life. He was a graduate of Oregon State College, at Corvallis, Ore., in 1911. He was married to Lillie Mae King on July 1, 1916, at Seattle, Wash.

Mr. Vail first became a Purina dealer in 1927, at Emmett, Ida., where he owned and operated the Farmers Feed & Seed Co., at Emmett and Payette, Ida., from 1927 to 1930. In 1930, they moved to Nampa, and Mr. Vail operated the Vassar Produce Co. until 1935. He then purchased the firm and changed the name to Vail Produce Company, which he has operated for the past 31 years. The firm moved to its present location in 1953. In prior years, Mr. Vail had been associated with the Lilly Seed Co., at Seattle, Wash., and with the Union Feed & Seed Co., in Boise, before coming to Nampa. He was a member of the Ralston Purina Company's Presidents of Honor Council.

Through the years, he had been a very active member of the Nampa First Christian Church. He served as Sunday School superintendent in the 1930's, was active as an elder and deacon in the church throughout his life, and was elected elder emeritus in 1965. He had also served as chairman of the building fund during the building of the present church. He was also a charter member of the Nampa Lions Club, and a member of the Boise Knife & Fork Club.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillie K. Vail of Nampa; two daughters, Mrs. Jennie Belle Caldwell and Mrs. Margaret V. Taylor, both of Nampa: one sister, Maude Edwards of Prosser, Wash.; one brother, William Vail, of Bothell, Wash., and six grandchildren.
