Cecil 'George' Hayhurst entered this life April 8, 1920 in Ft. Morgan, Colorado to Jasper and Roberta (Linthicom) Hayhurst. He entered into rest Friday, January 25, 2008 at his residence in Sulphur, Oklahoma.
He enlisted into the Army at the age of 20 and was in Hawaii at the start of World War II. He came to Sulphur, Oklahoma at age three from Nebraska. After retiring from civil service, he worked at a children's home, apartment complex and drove a tractor trailer rig from which he obtained a second retirement.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis, of the home; three sons, Glenn Hayhurst of Longmont, Colorado, David Hayhurst and Christopher Hayhurst, both of Kearney, Nebraska; two daughters, Frances West of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Dixie Vigil of Beaumont, South Carolina; eight grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.

Cecil "George" Hayhurst, 87, of Sulphur was born in Fort Morgan, Colo. on April 8, 1920, to Jasper and Roberta (Linthicom) Hayhurst. He died Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, at his residence in Sulphur. He was cremated, and a private family service was held.
He grew up in Denver, Colo. He went into the Army at the age of 20 and was in Hawaii at the start of World War II. He came to Sulphur three years ago from Nebraska. He retired from civil service and worked in a children's home, apartment complex and drove a tractor trailer truck from which he obtained a second retirement.
Survivors include: his wife, Phyllis Hayhurst of Sulphur; three sons, Glenn Hayhurst of Longmont, Colo., and David and Christopher Hayhurst, both of Kearney, Neb.; two daughters, Frances West of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Dixie Vigil of Beaumont, S.C.; eight grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.
