Harry S. Prager served as a Corporal in Company H of the 2nd Tennessee Volunteer Infantry Regiment during the Spanish-American War.

This soldier was from Dyersburg, Tennessee. His military file listed him as single, his age as 38, and his occupation as a "blacksmith."

He enlisted in the U.S. Army on April 27, 1898. He was mustered into Company F, 2nd Tennessee Volunteer Infantry. He was transferred into Company H on June 1, 1898.

He served in the Spanish-American War at Santiago, Cuba in July 1898, but was taken ill and was transported to Camp Meade, Pennsylvania (near Harrisburg), where he died on September 19, 1898.

He was one of only 5 African-American soldiers to be buried in the Civil War section of the cemetery.
