OBITUARY:
"George Orville Armistead, son of the late Josiah and Martha Jane Fryer Armistead, was born in Stanton, Missouri on October 4, 1908, and departed this life at Van Deren Nursing Home, Stanton, Missouri, on Wednesday, April 21, 1965 - having reached the age of 56 years, six months and 17 days.
He was converted and baptized in early manhood, uniting with the First Baptist Church in Stanton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Susie May Minks and Bertha Lawrence.
He is survived by two sisters, Ollie Lawrence and Addie Woodcock; one brother, Thomas Armistead, all of Stanton; two brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. A kind and loving brother and uncle, he will be sadly missed by his loved ones and friends.
Funeral services were held in the Casey-Lenox Chapel, Friday afternoon April 23.
The Rev. Estes Perkins, pastor of Community Church, conducted the services.
Interment in Stanton Cemetery."
