Lee Fern Arnold, 88, a lifelong resident of the Norcatur area, died Sunday, March 23, 2008, at the Decatur County Hospital in Oberlin.
He was born March 26, 1919, in Decatur County, the son of Orlo Ray and Gladys Lucy (Tolle) Arnold. He attended Norcatur schools, graduating in 1939.
He married Lora Gallentine on Oct. 10, 1940, at the United Brethren Church in Clayton. They lived in Garfield Township, where they were farmers and ranchers. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Norcatur, and had served on the church, school and township boards.
Survivors include his wife, Lora,Clayton; a son, John and Brenda Arnold, Clayton; a daughter, Susan and Frank Bolek, Valparaiso, Ind.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and eight step-greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two granddaughters. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Norcatur United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Norcatur Cemetery
