Abel Louise J was born in St. Catharine, Canada May 20, 1827. She was the oldest of 5 children, having 4 brothers younger than herself, all of whom survive her. In her childhood she moved with her family to Junius, N.Y. In 1859 she married Andrew Abel. One son and 3 daughters were born to them, all of whom are living. The family came to Kendallville about 1863. Mr. Abel died in 1888. She was one of the oldest members of the Presbyterian Church. Funeral at her residence May 15. Burial, Lake View Cemetery. ^ 5-18-1894
