~ Irene Conant Obituary ~
Former longtime local resident Irene Stella Conant, 92, of Vancouver passed away Aug. 9, 2009, at Country Haven Adult Family Home.
She was born March 25, 1917, in Gnesen Township, Minn., to Stella (Mosinak) and Michael Musolf.
Irene lived in the local area for more than 60 years. She was a business owner and operator, a wife and a mother. She enjoyed genealogy, crocheting, quilting, gardening and reading.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur B. Conant; and a daughter, Kathleen Ann Sayre.
Survivors include a sister, Olive Kirkland of Hermantown, Minn.; two brothers, Richard "Dick" Musolf of Duluth, Minn., and Charles "Chap" Musolf of Longview; three sons, Butch Conant and Roy "Buster" Conant, both of Portland, and James "Jim" Conant of White Salmon, Wash.; three daughters, Irene "Sue" Allen of Austin, Texas, Naomi "Niki" Nicholls of Broomsfield, Colo., and Janice "Jan" Wimberly of Vancouver; and nine grandchildren, Scott, Rod, Quentin and Trevor Conant, Natasha Sayre, Sarah Valazquez, Catherine "Cat" and Racine "Racer" Nicholls and Melissa Wimberly.
A graveside service was held Saturday.
Contributions to assist the family with expenses may be made care of Jan Wimberly, 8617 NE 100th St., Vancouver, WA 98662.
Arrangements were by Ross Hollywood Chapel, Portland.
