Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Adam F. Jaskowiak, 88, of St. Joseph will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2009 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in St. Joseph. Adam passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta with his family at his side. Reverend Joseph Feders OSB will officiate. Entombment with military honors will be in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum, St. Cloud.
Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Joseph.
Adam was born on October 2, 1920 in Oak Park, Illinois to Adam C. and Frances M. (Metz) Jaskowiak. He married Dolores Kolk on November 21, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Adam proudly served with the US Army during WWII in the European Theatre. Adam and his family moved to Sartell in 1961 where he was employed by DeZurik's as a Tool and Die Maker until his retirement. They moved to St. Joseph in 1990. They also enjoyed their lake home and wintering in Arizona. Adam was a member of the St. Joseph American Legion #328 and V.F.W. #5773.
He enjoyed woodworking and making wooden toys for children. Adam and Dolores enjoyed fishing and crafting together.
Adam is survived by his children, Anne Howard (Norm) of Richmond, Adam M. (Jan) of Sauk Rapids, Joanne Welle (Jerry) of Brandon, Richard (Leanne) of Bemidji, Jerome (Joyce Barott) of Washburn, Wisconsin, Mary Schramel (John) of Zimmerman; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dolores in 2004; and grandson, Mark Howard.
Memorials are preferred to Quiet Oaks Hospice House. A special thank you to their wonderful staff and volunteers.
