Joshua John Murphy, beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend, became our guardian angel on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009. Joshua passed away in Las Vegas after sustaining carbon monoxide asphyxiation in a tragic accident on Lake Mead.

Joshua was born April 25, 1998, in Butte. He lived with his mother and sisters in Anaconda all of his young life and attended Dwyer and Lincoln schools. He enjoyed his summer and Christmas vacations in Las Vegas with his father, stepmother and stepbrother. One of Joshie's favorite vacationing spots throughout his life was in Malta, with his Uncle Gary and Auntie Barb.

Josh was a calm, patient, caring, loving and adventurous young man. He brightened everyone's day with his beautiful, uplifting smile and kind words. Spending time with his family and friends, hiking, camping, archery, boating, knee boarding, swimming, family night, playing the drums and video games were his favorite things. He was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed watching Rey Mysterio wrestle.

Joshua is survived by his loving mother and stepfather, MJ "Jodi" Murphy-Miller and Todd Hetland of Anaconda and Elko, Nev.; father and stepmother, Michael and Tina Browning of Las Vegas; sisters, Jessika Hatcher (Earl "Red" Fode Jr.), Jaylin "Birdie" Miller and Jacee Hetland, all of Anaconda; stepbrothers, James Pettie of Las Vegas, Michael, Ashton and Hayden Hetland of Elko; niece, Lilyan Fode; grandparents, Gene and Loretta Browning of Las Vegas; uncles and aunts, Gary J. and Barbara (Murphy) Anderson of Malta, Dr. John A.
