"Clifford H. Land, 85, born November 11, 1915, in New Castle, IN, passed away in Meadows Manor North, Terre Haute, IN, on April 3, 2001.

Formerly of San Antonia, TX, a resident of 50 years, Clifford was born to Paul J. and Sharlie Land (born, Sharlie Stubbs).

Clifford was a member of the Retired Officers Club, Republican Party and Sons of Hermann Lodge. He retired as a Chief Warrant Officer from the United States Air Force after serving over 23 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul J. Land; mother, Sharlie Land; brothers, Marion Land, Maurice Land, James Land, Richard Land, and Jack Land; sisters, Iola Hughes and Virginia Callen. He is survived by sisters, Frances Masterson of Florida and Patricia Wendell of Texas; brothers, Lawrence Land of Terre Haute, IN, and Robert Land of Anderson, IN.

Funeral Services will be held at Maplewood Cemetery, Thursday, April 5, 2001, at 11:00 A.M. with interment to follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson, IN. VFW Post No. 266 will be conducting Military Rites. Arrangements with: Thomas Funeral Home, Inc. Terre Haute, IN."
