Necie Patricia Barnes "Ms. Pat", 66 years old, of Hurley, MS, passed away Tuesday morning, August 25, 2009, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. "On August 25th, Jesus took Necie Patricia Barnes by the hand to the promised land."

She was born on August 7, 1943 in Laurel, MS to the late Lester and Irma Burns. Ms. Pat lived in the area for 35-years, was a homemaker, treasured her flowers and dogs, and enjoyed helping others.

She is survived by three daughters, Regina (Johnny) Gill, of Middleburg, FL; Lynn Etheredge, of Hurley, MS; and Debbie (Greg) Carroll, of Lucedale, MS. Two sons, Roger (Venessa) Byrge, of Hurley; and Don (Tammy) Byrge, of Vancleave, MS. Fifteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two on the way. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon, Thursday, August 27, 2009, at 2:00pm, from the Chapel of Coastal Funeral Home, with Brother Keith Stanford of the Providence Church of God in Mobile officiating. Interment will follow in Serene Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until service time. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Anderson, Gregory Carroll, Roger Byrge, Devin Byrge, Austin Etheredge, and Jeremy Byrge.
