Robert was the 4th child of James and Dora Howard. Newspaper account of his death follows: "Robert Howard, residing at 612 North Anderson street, died at 1:05 this morning at the Mercy Hospital from injuries sustained late Monday afternoon from the discharge of an "unloaded" shotgun..... The young man was a favorite amoung a wide circle of friends and many hearts will be saddened by the tragic accident, which cost the life of this promising, energetic lad."
