COWPENS, SC-- Gladys Walker Burnett, 83, of 587 McGraw Road, Cowpens, died Friday, August 14, 2009 at her residence. She was the widow of William Whitt Burnett, and the daughter of the late William M. and Mittie Hunnicutt Walker. She was retired from District 2 School Systems of Spartanburg County and she was member of Stateline Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Michael Burnett of Gaffney; and two daughters, Rita Cash of Cowpens and Treasure Swanlund of Gaffney; one brother, Truitt Walker of Sandy Plains, NC, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Eggers Funeral Home Chapel of Chesnee, officiated by Rev. John Godfrey. Burial will follow in Springhill Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Monday, August 17, 2009 from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lutheran Hospice, PO Box 1353, Greer, SC 29652.
