Ruth Dawes Elliott, 79, Lansing, KS passed away on March 7, 2007 at her home.
OBITUARY
Ruth was born March 6, 1928 in Leavenworth, KS the daughter of Joseph J and Ruth (Howard) Dawes.
On March 9, 1948 she married William "Buck" Elliott. He survives her. Ruth is also survived by her children: Tom (Pam) Elliott, Lenexa, KS; Lou Anne (Ray) Nesheim, Aurora, CO; Randy Elliott, Lansing, KS; Chris (Joy) Elliott, Leavenworth, KS; Jeff (Christine) Elliott, Lenexa, KS; brother Ben Dawes, Leavenworth, KS; sisters Jean Will, Leavenworth, KS; Barbara (Frank) Moore, Tucson, AZ; Ann Kelly, Alexandria, LA; and Kate Dawes, Tucson, AZ. Ruth is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph J and Ruth Dawes, brothers Joseph J Dawes Jr and William H. Dawes, and son Rick Elliott.
Ruth was a life long resident of the Leavenworth area and attended St. Mary's College. Ruth was a former president of the Leavenworth County Women's Democratic Club, a member of the DAR and an avid bridge player.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm Sunday, March 11, 2007 at the Davis Funeral Chapel, 531 Shawnee St., Leavenworth, KS. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 am Monday, March 12, 2007 at the Chapel of Veterans, Leavenworth, KS. Burial will follow at the Mt. Muncie Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Leavenworth Hospice.
