DEATH COMES TO WILLIAM J. PIO
Jefferson Township Farmer Was Widely Known in County.
William J. Pio, aged 54 years, prominent farmer residing in Jefferson township, died at 2:15 o'clock Monday morning at his home twelve miles southeast of Fort Wayne. His death was due to disease of the bowels.
Mr. Pio had been a life-long resident of Allen county. He was born September 17, 1860, in Jefferson township. He was married August 12, 1882, to Miss Mary Mayers, at St. Louis Catholic church. As a former he was one of the most prosperous in his township. He was widely known and his untimely death is mourned by a wide circle of friends.
Surviving besides the widow he leaves three children, Mrs. William Huguenard and Mrs. Ernest Lamont, of Jefferson township and William A. Pio, the well known Pennsylvania conductor. He also leaves two brothers and three sisters, Charles Pio, of Payne, Ohio, and Julian Pio, of Bushong, Kan.; Mrs. D. Lortie, of Monroeville; Mrs Jack Cribbins, of Warren, Pa., and Mrs. Robert Moore, of Bushong, Kan.
Funeral services Wednesday morning at 8:30 o'clock from the residence and at 9 o'clock from St. Louis Catholic church. Interment at the Besancon cemetery.
