David John Birnie, and his wife Catherine Margaret Birnie, were an Australian couple who were charged with the deaths of four women. The crimes were referred to in the press as the "Moorhouse Murders," after the Birnies' address at 3 Moorhouse Street in Willagee, a working class suburb of Perth, Australia.

David died of suicide. No one came forth to claim his ashes and after a month, his ashes were taken to the cemetery in Perth.

He was described as a model inmate, never causing trouble within the system. He rescued a wounded pigeon once and walked around with it quite often on his shoulder. He also befriended a feral cat who he often fed scraps to thru his bar Windows.
