Barbara Jean Luttrell Shipley, age 79 of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at her home.
She was a member of Dixie Lee Baptist Church. Barbara was a former volunteer nurse at Highland Park School and was an avid gardener. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Preceded in by her husband, Roy Shipley; parents, Viola and Lynn Luttrell.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Sue Shipley of Lenoir City, Patrick Shipley of Atlanta, GA, Chris and Tammy Shipley of Lenoir City; grandsons, Rodney Shipley and wife, Lynn of New Jersey, Jeremy Shipley and wife, Stephanie, Nick Shipley all of Lenoir City; 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Nova Lee of Lenoir City, Dixie Harris and husband, Louie of Maryville; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday with funeral services to follow at 7 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home chapel with Dr. James Clayton officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home and proceed to Lakeview Cemetery for graveside services at 11 a.m. Serving as pallbearers: Noel Patterson, Joe Sweeney, John Marius, Tony Arden, Ronald Harris and David White.
