Obituary for Alice Swartz:
Alice J. Swartz age 91 of Upper Sandusky, died Apr. 3, 2023 at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born Aug.28, 1931 in Carey to the late Joseph B. and Eva L. (Day) Gibson. She married Calvin L. Swartz on Aug. 2, 1960 and he preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 1979.
Mrs. Swartz is survived by a brother F. David (Shirley) Gibson, Upper Sandusky, a brother-in-law Al Newell, Upper Sandusky, nephews, nieces and cousins. She is preceded in death by a brother Richard Gibson, a sister Corinne Newell and a sister-in-law Cuba Louise Gibson.
She has been a member of First Lutheran Church since June 1, 1947. Mrs. Swartz had worked at First Citizens National Bank for 35 years as head of the proof department, and retired in 1994. She was a member of Colonel William Crawford Daughters of the American Revolution for over 40 years. Mrs. Swartz was a past member and treasurer of the Wyandot County Council for Birth Defects for 31 years. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, doing picture puzzles and was an avid reader.
A private graveside service was held in the Old Mission Cemetery with Rev. Kathleen Shuck officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home 226 East Wyandot Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
