Jerry V. Schlottach-Cherry



Graveside service for Jerry V. Schlottach-Cherry, 90, Lawton, will be at noon Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Jim Antwine officiating.


She died Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, in Lawton.


Arrangements are under direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.


She was born Nov. 2, 1918, in Guthrie to Hugh H. and Mary Etta Fleenor Gordon. She grew up in Guthrie and graduated from high school in 1936. She moved to Lake Charles, La., where she lived for eight years until moving to Enid, where she married Edwin H. Schlottach on Nov. 23, 1945. He died Feb. 3, 1988. They moved to Lawton in 1952. She worked as a seamstress at Montgomery Wards, in the drapery department, and later at Sugar and Spice Children's Apparel. She married Jerry P. Cherry in 1994 in Las Vegas. He died April 23, 1995. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.


Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and MaryLou Schlottach, Walters; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Ronnie Wood, Lawton; a sister, Imogene Moore, Guthrie; two grandchildren and their spouses: Erin Schlottach, Walters, and Amber and Shawn McPherson, Lawton; two great-grandchildren: Peyton McPherson and Ryan McPherson, both of Lawton; and numerous nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers and sisters.
