JAMES OMOS BEATTY wss born on July 31, 1868 in Macoupin Co., Illinois the son of Alvin Perry Beatty and Zerrildia N. "Atteberry" Beatty. The family moved to Johnson Co. Nebraska where he met and later married Alice J. Wright. To this union were born five children: Earl Omos, Alice Fern, Gladys L., Hazel Velma, and Claude Velsa.

After the death of his wife Alice, he married Iva Myrtle Beaver. To this union were born 5 more children: H. Muriel, Jamie Eula, Robert K., Dorthy I., and Winifred Joyce.

Funeral of James O. Beatty, 1312 North Louise avenue, 73-year-old former city furniture store owner, who died Friday morning in St. Anthony hospital, will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Smith and Kernke funeral home. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery. Beatty had lived here since 1905, except for 1924 and 1925, when he operated a furniture store in Okmulgee.
