Benjamin F. Essex, 76, died at 9:15 this morning at his home in Hope. He suffered a stroke of paralysis on April 4 and was in bed for the past 15 weeks.
Funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Wesleyan Methodist Church in charge of the Rev. Charles Galbraith of Rugby.
Mr. Essex was born January 16, 1859, the son of Andrew and Lucy Hinshaw Essex of Hawcreek Township. He was married November 6, 1879, to Miss Miranda Shore of Hope. Mr. Essex had lived in Hope for 26 years and had many friends in the county. He was a member of the United Brethern Church at Rugby.
Surviving are the widow, one son, Millard, east of Hope, and three daughters, Mrs. Clarence Osting of Burney, Mrs. Mary Holder of Indianapolis, and Rosella at home; 9 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
