Early Tuesday morning, on the las day of the year 1889, Andrew McNeil, who for fifty years had live in Union county, was called to the Great Beyond.
Mr. McNeil was know extensively and was greatly loved and respected for his rugged honesty, his true manhood and his blameless Christian life. We find the following in the Union County History:
Andrew McNeil was born in Chester county, Pa, March 23 1811. In 1839 he removed to Tuscarawas County, O., where he remained nearly a year. In September, 1839 he came to Union county, and for serval years lived in Claibourne Township. From March 1849, to March 1853, he was Auditor of Union county. Since 1862 he has lived in York township. His first wife was Mary Criswell, of Pennsylvania, She died in Oct., 1861, and he afterward married Mrs. Catherine N Patterson. In 1857 Mr. McNeil was elected Commissioner of Union County, and held the office six years with credit to himself.
Mr. McNeil joined the York Presbyterian church when it was first organized, and for many years he has been an elder. He was one of the prominent and most highly respected citizens of the county.
The funeral takes place today. Service by Rev. W.G. March, assisted by Rev. John Tenney.

He married Mary Criswell on 28-FEB-1833 in Oxford, Chester, Pennsylvania, USA.
He married Catherine Mary McCrea on 16-JUN-1862 in York, Union, Ohio, USA.
