Phyllis A. Adametz, age 82, of Highland, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Upland Hills Nursing and Rehab Center surrounded by her loving family. Phyllis was born on October 21, 1926 the daughter of Virgil and Belva (Oates) Wright. She was united in marriage to James Adametz on June 14, 1945 and together they farmed near Montfort and raised nine children. She was a member of Ss. Anthony and Philip parish, the Iowa County Homemakers, the Altar Societies and she was a 4-H leader for the Oak Grove Starliners Club. Phyllis enjoyed playing cards, gambling, going to lunch with her friends the "Lunch Bunch" but most of all she loved the time she spent with her family. And for anyone who crossed her doorstep her arms and doors were always open.

She was preceded in death by, her parents; her husband, Jim; two sons, David "Apple" and Steve Adametz; her grandson, Joshua Adametz; her daughter-in-law, Juliet Adametz and her sister, Betty Batton. Phyllis is survived by, her children, Kathy (Joe) Kruchten, John (Carolyn) Adametz, Elaine Adametz, Joe (Cheri) Adametz, Jerry (Sue) Adametz, Don Adametz and his fiancé, Penny Zintz and Julie (Tom) Pustina; 16 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; her sister, Ruth Crubel; two brothers, Ron and Lloyd Wright; her longtime friend, Rosie Laufenberg as well as nieces, nephews and many friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 4, 2009 at Ss. Anthony & Philip Catholic Church in Highland. Fr. Kenneth J. Frisch will officiate with burial in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and on Friday after 10:00 A.M.
