Mary Polly Albright was born in Seneca County, New York to Francis and Nancy Anne (Wismer) Albright. In 1801 Mary's family moved to Wheatland, Monroe County, NY. Mary's father was fairly wealthy and divided his estate among his children at his death. Allowing a monthly stipend to be rewarded monthly during her life.
Mary Polly married Isaiah Jennings Hudson, on March 26, 1817, in Wheatland, NY. After 1822, prior to the birth of thier 3rd child Sidney, they moved their 3 children from Wheatland, NY to Short Hills, Canada, where Isaiah operated a woolen mill. Upon the request of her father, they moved back to Wheatland a few years later, farmed the considerable land owned by Francis.

After 1830, they decided to come to the Michigan Territory. Isaiah purchased 160 acres in Milford Township, Oakland County, Michigan and moved his family there where they became pioneer settlers. The land was on the Huron River, where Isaiah built and operated a saw-mill.

Isaiah and Mary were among 12 settlers, mostly from the Monroe County, NY area who drew up a covenant for the Baptist Church of Highland, officially organized on Jan 16, 1834.

Eleven children were born to this union.
