Miss Patricia Faye Burgin, 29, of 63 Vermont Avenue, Asheville, N.C., died in an automobile accident near Enka Wednesday, August 12, 1970.

She was the daughter of William Loy Burgin and Emily Draper Burgin.

A native of Buncombe County, N.C., Miss Burgin graduated from Lee Edwards High School and Appalachian State University where she received her AB degree in 1963. She was beginning her eighth year at Enka where she was a honor teacher and taught English. A member of the North Carolina Education Association , she was a member of the steering committee at Enka for Southern Colleges and Secondary Schools. Chairman of the English Department, she was also faculty advisor to the Enka cheerleaders.

She was survived by her mother, Mrs. Emily Burgin of the home; a sister, Mrs. Thomas A. Hudgens Jr. of Valdosta, Georgia and several aunts including Misses Beatrice and Hilda Draper of the home.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, August 14, 1970 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs. C.R. Pierce and J.T. Kesterson officiating. Burial was in Morgan Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Hugh Tomberlin, William McElrath, C.V. Parker, David Young, William Warren and Michael Heilbronn.
