Mr. Stewart was born in Columbus [sic Columbia] County, Arkansas. He moved to Winn Parish in 1888 and has resided in the Dodson area ever since. He was a member of a well known and esteemed family and had been affiliated with the Dodson Methodist Church for the past thirty years.
Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Esther Mae Pepper and seven children as follows: Luther, Lonnie, Archie, Leon, Mrs. R. L. Daily, Matifay [sic Mattie Faye] and Esther, of Dodson; three brothers, Thomas, Joe of Dodson, John of Winnfield; a sister, Mrs. J. R. Berry of Dodson.
