A long-time resident of this district in the person of Mr. Wilbert Carss passed away on Friday, April 4th, at the age of 76 years. Born at Armprior, Ont., Mr. Carss came to Saskatchewan in 1900 and settled on a farm on the North Plain where he farmed till 1948 when he retired to Lumsden.
Funeral services were held in Lumsden United Church on Tuesday, April 8th, at 2 p.m. with Rev. J. S. Sangster of Lumsden, and Dr. S. A. Kennedy of Liberty officiating. The funeral was in charge of Speers Funeral Home and Burial was in Lumsden Cemetery.
Besides his wife, Mr. Carss is survived by two sons, Harold of Dawson Creek, B.C. and Gordon of Regina, two daughters, Isobel (Mrs. Howard Watson) of Edmonton and Mildred (Mrs. Robert Davidson of Windsor, Ont.) eight grandchildren, one brother, Fred of Armprior also survives.
