Thomas Carroll, 79, husband of Molly Carroll, died at 3714 South Third Street, Ironton, Ohio, Saturday night at 8:01 after an illness of one week. He was born in Carter county, Ky., Nov. 16, 1856, one of a family of eight sons and one daughter born to Mr. and Mrs. John Carroll. Mr. Carroll, a former steelworker, retired 10 years ago.The body was brought to the Lazear Funeral Home here where it will remain until funeral services are held there at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Cordle, pastor of the Loraine Baptist Church of Ironton, will officiate, and interment will follow in the Ashland cemetery. Mr. Carroll, who was a brother of the late George Carroll, father of Harry and Walter "Stubby" Carroll of Ashland; and Mrs. Carroll celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sept. 11, 1934. They were married in Ashland in 1884. He formerly was a member of the First Baptist Church here. Surviving are his widow; one son, C. A. Carroll, Lakeland, Fla.; two daughters, Mrs.James L. Smith of Ironton, Ohio; and Mrs. William McKee of North Kenova, Ohio; one brother, Charles Carroll of Gartrell Hill, Ashland; one sister, Mrs. Helen Prichard of Grayson, Ky.;
