Mark Edward Wiggans, age 51, resident of 1545 215th Street, Fort Scott, Kan., died Saturday, December 27, 2008, at Mercy Health Center following a cancer illness. He was born February 10, 1957, in Fort Scott, the son of Robert Wiggans and Doris Spaur Wiggans. He worked for 22 years at Tower Metal. Mark was a member of the Devon Rural Fire Department and the Fort Scott Elks Lodge. His hobbies included fishing and constructing metal equipment.

Survivors include Carol Gilbreth, of the home; three daughters, Priscilla Griffiths and husband Doug, Bronaugh, Missouri, Amber Bailey and husband Donald, and Megan Wiggans, all of Fort Scott; one brother, Richard Wiggans, Springdale, Ark.; and one sister, Ellen Chaplin, Fort Scott. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Beau Tanner Hendershot, Dakota Lane Bailey, Kaden Michael Wiggans and Jorja Renee Griffiths. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family members will conduct graveside services at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Clarksburg Cemetery. Family and friends may meet at Cheney Witt Chapel prior to leaving for the cemetery at 1:40 p.m. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and may be sent to Cheney Witt Chapel, P.O. Box 347, Fort Scott, Kansas 66701.
