On October 17, 1931, she was united in marriage to Dick Solsma in Sanborn, IA. The couple made their home in the Sheldon and Sanborn areas. In 1944 they bought their present-day farm where they farmed together and raised their three children: Jake, Correne, and Dallis. The couple retired from farming in 1972 and remained on the farm until 1994 when Dick passed away and Cornelia moved to the Christian Retirement Home in Sheldon. She moved to Prairie View Nursing Home in the summer of 2006. She passed away there on March 15, 2008 at the age of 92.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dick; her son, Jake; two infant daughters: Caroline and Darlene Kay; three sisters: Agnes Solsma, Engelane Damstra and Gertrude Hengeveld; and one brother, John Hofman.
Cornelia was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Sheldon. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, reading, embroidery and studying her Bible.
