Virginia Merle King O'Brien, 74 a native of New Orleans and resident of Poplarville, Miss., died at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Miss. Wensday, Feb. 4. She was a member of the Mitchell Chapel Church of God in Crossroads, Miss. a certified nurse's assistant for five years and a dovoted wife, mother and friend.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Clifton May of Picayune, Miss. and Gui Hamilton May of Canton, N.C.; Three daughters, Donna May Holloway of Pine, Linda Fullbright of Maggie Valley, N.C., Melissa Slade Keating of Poplarville, Miss.; Four stepchildren, Richard O'Brien of Pigeon Forge, T.N., Raymond O'Brien of Canton, N.C., Randell O'Brien of Clyde, N.C., Marlynn Smith of Bogalusa; five sisters, Pauline Baughman of Bogalusa, Geneva Miller of Pine, Barbara Mitchell of Bogalusa, Cathy Dufreese of Poplarville, Miss. and Sharon Mattox of Poplarville, Miss. 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Earl O'Brien and a stepdaughter, Mildred O'Brien Seals. Her parents, Paul and Daisy K. Ryles King.

Visitation was held at Brown McGehee Funeral Home Thursday Feb. 5 and will continue Friday, Feb. 6 from 9 a.m. untill time for the funeral service.

The funeral services will be held at the Mitchell Chapel Church of God in Crossroads at 2 p.m. with Rev. Adrian Littlefield and Rev. Frank McGaugh officiating.

Interment will follow in the Ponemah Cemetery.
