EAST DUBUQUE, Ill. -- Donald W. "Arnie" Arensdorff, 53, of East Dubuque, died Wednesday morning, Sept. 2, 2009.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Sinsinawa, with the Rev. Cy Weisensel officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, 1185 Route 35 N., East Dubuque, where there will be a parish rosary/scripture service at 4 p.m. Friday.

He was born on Oct. 29, 1955, in Dubuque, son of Eldon J. and Marie B. (Wagner) Arensdorff. He was a graduate of Southwest High School, Hazel Green, Wis., Class of 1973.

Don was formerly employed at Daleo Machining Inc. in Platteville and farmed in rural Hazel Green.

He enjoyed fishing, restoring I-H tractors, Harley-Davidson motorcycles and going to rodeos.

Surviving are his parents, Eldon and Marie Arensdorff, of Hazel Green, his special friend, Sharon Sweet, of Cuba City, Wis.; his siblings, Carol (Ken) Stagman, of Hazel Green, Merlin (Judy) Arensdorff, of Eldridge, Iowa, Alan (Tracey) Arensdorff and Larry (Cathy) Arensdorff, both of Hazel Green, Joan (Tom) Mai, of East Dubuque, and Roger (Melissa) Arensdorff, of Cuba City; 16 nieces and nephews; and three great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerome; a nephew, Brad Arensdorff; his paternal and maternal grandparents, Arnold and Florence (Koltes) Arensdorff and Peter and Rosalia (Naumann) Wagner; and many aunts and uncles.
