She graduated from the University of Texas in 1935 as the first woman with a degree in Civil Engineering. Judith and John had four children; two daughters, and twins, a boy and girl. They spent twelve years in Alice, Texas where Judith taught high school math and was very active in the Methodist Church and several civic organizations.

They moved to College Station, Texas in 1954, as John became a Professor of Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University. Judith was again very active in her community. She was a member of the D.A.R., United Methodist Women, the A&M Social Club and Chi Omega Alumni. She was an avid bridge player, wonderful seamstress, and loved gardening.

With three surviving children, eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, Judith has been blessed with a long and happy life. John and Judith had a wonderful sixty-three years together when John went to the Lord in 1996.
