Stanislaw

Hubert J. Stanislaw, 92, of Temple passed away Aug. 28 in a Temple nursing home. Funeral services were held Sept. 1 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Temple. Burial followed in Marak Cemetery.

Stanislaw was born Nov. 12, 1916 in Cameron to Frank H. and Viktoria Janicek Stanislaw. He was a WWII Veteran, serving the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater. He was awarded both the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart Medals. He lived in this area since 1973, moving from the Marak Community. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of KJT.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Antonia Stanislaw, and sister Sydonia Stanislaw.

Survivors include daughters Rosalie Thornblom and husband Dennis of West Columbia, and Mary Stanislaw of Killeen; brother Edwin Stanislaw of Lakewood, Col.; sisters Irene Champion and Evelyn Junius, both of Dallas; grandsons Keith Thornblom of Kenner, La. and Mark Thornblom of Newport News, Va.; and one grandson, Eric Thornblom of Kenner, La.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic School of Temple or St. Cyril Methodius Catholic Church of Marak.
