William Parker Adams, the fourth son of Robert and Martha Lyon Adams, and the second one to live past infancy, was born on July 19, 1872 at Saybrook, Illinois. He moved as a child with his parents to Kansas where they moved about a great deal as a frontier preacher's family. He attended Campbell College but did not graduate.

He was a minister in the Kansas Conference of the United Brethern Church since 1910. He lived and served at Ione, Smith Center, Clayton, Agra and Bird City, all in Kansas.

"He was greatly beloved as a pastor wherever he worked"

He married on January 29, 1896 at Pawnee, in the Oklahoma Indian Territory to Margaret Ellen Johnston. She was born April 8, 1870 at McPherson, Kansas. her father was Edward Johnston and her mother was Laura Tryon. Margaret died on May 22, 1925 at Eads, Colorado and was buried there. "A very devout and wonderful Christian and Pastor's wife."

Will and Margaret had but one child:

Alta Tryon Adams, born November 16, 1896 at Pawnee, Oklahoma Indian Territory. She married on September 22, 1919 at Smith Center, Kansas to Gerald Sherman Cline.

Will remarried on May 12, 1928 to Minnie Gunther Pettit. She was born on September 21, 1882 at Fairmont, Nebraska. She and Will lived south of that city, in Kansas, near Bird City. She died there on June 6, 1966 and was buried beside her first husband. Will and Minnie had no children.
