Gladys McCully Rogers entered this world, along with her twin sister Glenn McCully Klug, on 25 July 1904 in Sullivan County, Mo. Her parents were Charles E. and Mertie (Talbert) McCully. In 1907 her father died and in 1909 her youngest brother Charley, age 3, died in a fire at the home in Browning, MO.

On 8 May 1920, Gladys married Walter L. Haynes in Milan, MO. Gladys was 15 and Walter 20. They moved to NE where two daughters were born to the couple, Gladys J. and Laura M. (Barkdull). Around 1923, the rest of the extended family moved from Sullivan County, MO to Fremont, NE. Once there, they ran the Stock Yards Hotel on the outskirts of Fremont; with everyone working and living there.

In 1934 Gladys married J. Albert "Bud" Rogers. When his uncle, Harry Rogers, died, Bud became head of Rogers Tent and Awning and in the Rogers family tradition, Gladys was pressed into service as bookkeeper for the company. Bud died in 1961 and Gladys moved to CA to be near her daughter Laura.

Gladys died on 17 Dec 1989 in San Luis Obispo, CA. Her body was returned to Fremont, NE for burial next to her husband. She was 85 years old.
