Mr. Roger Wayne Cason, age 61, of Yellow Bluff Road, Jacksonville, Florida, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2008 at his residence following an extended illness. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Sunday, November 30, 2008 at the Riverside Primitive Baptist Church, 702 Dellwood Avenue, Jacksonville, FL, 32203. Elder Mike Newman and Elder Vernon Simms will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Saturday, November 29, 2008. His remains will lie in state at the church from 10:30 to 11:00 am Sunday. Mr. Cason was born in Clinch County, Georgia and is the son of Addie Shirley Cason and the late Daniel F. Cason. He served in the United States Navy in Vietnam. He was a member of the Riverside Primitive Baptist Church and Deacon Emeritus. Mr. Cason is survived by his wife, Silvia Simon Cason, Jacksonville, FL; mother, Addie Shirley Cason, Stockbridge, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel Williams and Melissa Cason, Jacksonville, FL; son and fianc, John Bradley Cason and Kelly Smith, Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Caleb, Joshua and Clayton Cason; sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Jack Frost, Braselton, GA; brother and sister-in-law, James and Lucile Cason, Loganville, GA; sister, Mary Miller, Norcross, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Pam Cason, Stockbridge, GA.
