He was born in Norfolk. He retired from Seaboard Airline Railroad after 25 years of service and from General Portland Cement Co. after 21 years of service. He was a member of Avondale United Methodist Church and was a Mason and a Shriner.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy; one son, Leigh Power; one brother, Aubrey P. Power of Richmond; four grandchildren, Leigh Jr., Tammy, Scott and Mark; and 4 great-grandchildren, Monica, Timothy, Marc and Alex.
The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Pastor Daniel K. Ivey. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 2 to 4 p.m. today.
