OBITUARY OF VIRGINIA KING ALLEN

Virginia King ALLEN, 88, of Canyon, died November 09, 1996.

Gravesides Services were held Tuesday, November 12, at Ochiltree Cemetery, with her nephews, Rev. Tim WRIGHT of Plano and Alan MEEKS of Lubbock officiating. Arrangements were through Boxwell Brothers.

She was born October 26, 1908 in Leivasy, Virginia, and moved to Ochiltree County with her family in 1908. She. taught school in Hansford and Ochiltree Counties, and was a business professor at West Texas A&M from the 1940s until 1980.

She was a member of the Panhandle Plains Historical Society, and was instrumental in the beginning of the musical "Texas" in Palo Duro Canyon. She was also one of the first female CPAs in the Panhandle. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Canyon.

She is survived by one sister, Lois FLOWERS of Canadian.
