Bernice cofounded the O'Fallon Library, was a founding member of Widows or Widowers (WOWs), Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Prayer Tree, Ladies Sodality of Assumption, Assumption Quilting Group, and a long time member of Assumption Church. She was also an avid trout fisher and Cardinals fan and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
*Bernard Griesenauer was her cousin, not her brother. His parents died when he was 20 days old and Bernice's parents raised him as their own.
