Bessie was not the daughter of Jonathan Dawson and Isabella King. At the age of 3 she was brought to them and they raised her as a their foster daughter. She named her son after him so their influence and love was not unappreciated but those searching for her heritage are not related by blood to the Dawson line. Research will show that she signed forms sometimes as a Reslen, Resler, Reasler or Wrestler. As of now, her family is unknown.
Edit: April 2023
I believe her mother to be Sarah Jane Beckhorn/Bakehorn, b 1848 Indiana, Father, Edward Beckhorn/Bakehorn & Ruth Bond. This parentage is confirmed by DNA. Neither Edward nor Sarah Jane can be located after 1880 and burial is unknown.
