Born April 11, 1912, she was the daughter of the late James D. and Bess Borders Allen, longtime residents of Cleveland County.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Paul Limerick, who headed the Shelby Chamber of Commerce for many years. Also preceding her in death were four sisters, Pauline Allen Poston, Mable Allen Owens, Pat Allen Willis and infant, Sarah Faye Allen; and three brothers, James C. Allen, Bill F. Allen and Dan B. Allen.
Nancy was a member of First Baptist Church in Shelby and belonged to the Womens Circle. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Nancy will be missed, never forgotten.
She is survived by two sons, Douglas Limerick and wife, Robin, of Fairfax, Va., and Dan Limerick and wife, Wendy, of Marietta, Ga.; one sister, Jessie Allen Elliott of Mount Holly; three granddaughters, Leigh Alice Limerick of Morgantown, Va., Leslie Limerick of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Lauren Limerick of Fairfax; two grandsons, Paul and Blake Limerick, both of Marietta; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Tench officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
