The funeral of Mrs Sarah E Ashton, widow of John A Ashton, Newfane, was held in her home in West avenue Monday afternoon. The Rev G C Bucher, of Newfane Methodist Episcopal church, where Mrs Ashton was a member of the church and societies, officiated. The bearers were Elmer and Owen B Searle, Ernest Swick, Fred Palmatier, Joseph Dixon, James Hotchkins. Burial was in the Corwin cemetery, Newfane. Mrs Ashton was born 82 years ago in Swormville, but had spent the greater part of her life in Newfane and vicinity. She died Friday evening, following several weeks' illness. She leaves her son and two daughters, Alson Ashton, Mrs Howard Dence and Miss Ida M Ashton, all of Newfane; two grandchildren and a great grandchild
