SERVICES FOR MRS. ANDREW WALZ ARE HELD
Final rites were observed Wednesday November 28 for Mrs. Andrew J. Walz. Services were held at the Congregational church at 2 p. m. and at Bluff View Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Midgely in charge. Mrs. Walz died after a brief illness at the Dakota hospital Sunday, November 25.
Bertha Agnes Walz was born at Ponca, Nebraska, the daughter of David and Mary Nicholson. On September 6, 1905 she was married to Andrew Walz in Vermillion. To this union where born four sons and four daughters, all of whom are living.
Mrs. Walz was an active member of the Rebekah lodge and the Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
She is survived by her husband, four daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Ahlgrim, Vermillion; Mrs. Phyllis Melcher, Platte; Mrs. Fern Ostrem and Mrs. Margaret Peterson, both of Centerville; and four sons, Carl, Arnold and Burdette, all of Vermillion and Henry of Gayville.
Four sisters, Mrs. Grace Brown, Sioux City; Mrs. Hazel Morrow, Topeka, Kansas; Mrs. Bess Whelton and Mrs. Edna Hanson of Vermillion; and two brothers, Earl Nicholson of Vermillion and Howard Nicholson of Miami, Florida also survive. There are 21 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Elmore-Wagner funeral home. Pallbearers were W. A. Bauman, Fred Sealey, J. Lee Stevenson, Kenneth Cellar, Wayne White and W. A. Chaussee. Arrangements were in charge of the Elmore-Wagner funeral home.
