James Burress Harden passed away Tuesday morning, March 31st, at his home near Vaiden. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the New Salem church with the Rev. McNutt officiating. Interment was in the New Salem cemetery with Oliver Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Harden was born in Calhoun City on December 1, 1881. In 1915 he married Miss Mary Lee Doster of Carroll County. He was a member of the Baptist Church in Calhoun City. He had been in ill health for several years.
Surviving are his wife and son, James Burress Harden, Jr., one brother, Ed, of Blytheville, Arkansas, A. half-brother, thirty nieces and nephews and 25 great nieces and nephews also survive.
