He was born November 19, 1963, in Altoona, PA, son of Albert L. and Marilyn June (Cherry) Dillen of Bellwood, PA. He married the love of his life, Mary T. (Kirsch) Dillen on February 8, 1986. They have three children, Ashley Marie (21), Kyle Albert (19), and Jacob Michael (11).
He is also survived by two sisters, Ginny O'Dell of South Amherst, OH, and Susan Pierce of Bellwood, PA; one brother, Steve Dillen of Altoona, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Al was employed as a controls engineer by BP North American. He was a 1982 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School. He received an A.S. in electrical power technology from Williamson Trade School in 1985; a B.S. in electrical engineering from LaSalle University in 1993; and was actively pursing a M.A. from Drexel University at the time of his death.
Al enjoyed playing golf, riding his Harley, and spending time with his family, especially at the beach. He had an inquisitive mind and a passion for learning. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2009, at St. Johns Catholic Church, Lakemont, PA.
A college fund has been established for his children at Fifth Third Bank, Holland, Ohio.
