Harriet Walker is the daughter of Robert Walker and Esther Taylor. Although some records show her last name as Taylor and her father's last name that way too.
She married Christopher Newell May 29, 1844 in Littleport Cambridgeshire England. They had daughter Kezia in February 1845. Kezia was baptised May 11, 1845 and died January 11, 1846. They had daughter Eliza born July 22, 1849 and baptised that day. She came with them to the USA aboard the ship "The New World" and arrived Nov 1853 in New York. She married William Martin and died May 1, 1911 in Capitalview, Cobb County, Georgia and is buried in Hollywood Cemetery. Then Christopher and Harriet had a little girl they named Harriet, born in Littleport on August 22, 1852 and she died September 4, 1853. Just 2 months before her parents arrival in USA.
Christopher and Harriet stayed most likely in New York area until they traveled through Ohio October 1856 when they had another daughter they named Esther. Esther grew up and married George Kuhns. She and George are buried in the Mound Grove Cemetery in Bourbonnais, Illinois. Then Christopher and Harriet had 2 more sons. Julian and John. John was born April 26, 1858 just 2 months before Harriet died. John is my 2nd great grandfather and he married Emma Rachel Snow in Waldren (now Aroma Park), Kankakee County, Illinois on March 31, 1884.
I have left mention Julian until last. I found his name on the front of this tombstone (now you cannot see the words at all). Harriet's on the right side and Christopher's second wife Hannah Jane Barney Newell on the back. Nothing was written on the left side of the stone.
The front says Julian son of C. & H. Newell, unfortunately either there was no date or it was unreadable by the time I found it on the stone. As his grave faces the front I know that he is the son of Christopher and Harriet. I believe he is the twin to John. I have nothing to back this up, but twins run in the family. He could have been born in the USA before or after Esther also.
This tombstone is to the left of the tree on the left somewhere near the hill. I have added the original photo of the inscription on the stone and the cleaned up one also.
